Monday-Friday (occasional evenings and weekends) Position is eligible for full telework workweek
POSITION PURPOSE:
Provides support to the SBMH Coordinator. Assist with the quality, enhancements and effectiveness in delivering mental health services to students throughout the district through monitoring referrals, ensuring the timeliness of service delivery, and helping to address existing barriers to the daily operation of the SBMH Program. This position is a grant-funded position dependent on funding provided by the U.S. Department of Education. Continuation of the position is contingent upon ongoing access to grant funding from the Department of Education during the calendar year and the Department's renewal of funding for subsequent calendar years. To the extent that grant funding is continuously renewed, the grant-funded position cannot extend beyond December 31, 2029.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff, students, parents, staff members of external agencies, and the community . Work is considered light physical work, requiring the exertion of up to ten pounds of force. The work frequently requires activities involving driving automotive equipment. This position is able to telework full time with the exceptions of required meeting , t rainings , community and school visits that may be needed on occasion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)
- Extensive knowledge and experience in providing clinical social work services, managing referrals, establishing mental health care plans, and monitoring progress towards mental health goals;
- Comprehensive knowledge of school social work and comprehensive school social work programs;
- Comprehensive knowledge of current local, state, national, and global trends in school mental health services ;
- Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Google Apps;
- Effective crisis response skills;
- Effective time management and organizational skills;
- Strategic problem-solving skills;
- Strong leadership skills;
- Ability to support a collaborative and flexible working environment;
- A bility to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, students, parents, community groups, vendors, external agencies, and the public.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
- Master 's degree in school social work from a regionally accredited college or university;
- Demonstrated successful experience as a school social worker.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
- Hold or be qualified to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator's License for school social work;
- License in Clinical Social Work Associate or above (LCSW or LCSW-A);
- Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license according to the State of North Carolina requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four years of experience in related areas of social services, public health or mental health.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the SBMH Coordinator in receiving, processing, and monitoring referrals for co-located mental health and ensures efficient processing of these referrals between schools and SBMH providers.
- Partners with SBMH providers to coordinate referrals for services in a timely manner.
- Coordinates progress monitoring for students receiving services, analyzes data, and delivers recommendations to the SBMH Coordinator for improvement.
- Monitors and reviews monthly data provided by SBMH providers
- Assists SBMH Coordinator to provide students, families, community members, and school personnel with specific training and professional development around mental health related topics.
- Assists the SBMH Coordinator to collect and maintain data to be used by the SBMH Coordinator to develop reports for administrative and school services teams that provide information related to the grant's objectives and recommendations for program improvement.
- Attends professional development opportunities related to mental health, trauma-informed schools, and other relevant trainings.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
