I served in the Marine Corps as an aircraft mechanic, and I wanted to put my experience to good use. I love my job because I'm always learning new things, solving problems, and accomplishing the goal of getting students to and from school in a safe school bus. I've worked for the district for 15 years now, and I am enjoying a fulfilling career with excellent benefits.

Danny, Field Supervisor at Wake County Public School System.

When I was thinking about becoming a school bus mechanic almost 30 years ago, my father encouraged me to go for it, saying it would be the best move I could make. I now know he was right. I worked 10 years for another school district before starting with the Wake County Public School System eight years ago, and now I'm a field supervisor. Wake County is a great place to work. I love the flexible work schedule and getting to work outside. And you can't beat the benefits. Very few places still offer a pension. I get job security as well as retirement security.
