POSITION PURPOSE:
Provides supervision, leadership, and support to the district's SBMH Therapists who are serving the mental health needs of students enrolled in the SBMH Program. Seeks to recruit the most highly qualified clinical staff for the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) SBMH Program and retains them through excellence in supervision, support/consultation, mentoring, goal setting, performance appraisal, and accountability. Additionally, oversees the design and operation of the CaSS Clinical Supervision program. This position is a grant-funded position dependent on funding provided by the U.S. Department of Education. Continuation of the position is contingent upon ongoing access to grant funding from the Department of Education during the calendar year and the Department's renewal of funding for subsequent calendar years. To the extent that grant funding is continuously renewed, the grant-funded position cannot extend beyond December 31, 2029.

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff, students, parents, staff members of external funding agencies, and the community. Work is considered light physical work, requiring the exertion of up to ten pounds of force. The work frequently requires driving a vehicle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)
- Extensive experience in providing clinical mental health services and supervision;
- Comprehensive knowledge of mental health services in schools;
- Comprehensive knowledge of Restorative and Trauma Aware/Informed practices;
- Comprehensive knowledge of the legal limitations providing mental health services and confidentiality in schools;
- Considerable knowledge of current local, state, national, and global trends in school based mental health programs and practices;
- Considerable knowledge of program evaluation to support continuous improvement;
- Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Google Apps;
- Effective time management and organizational skills;
- Effective crisis response skills; strategic problem-solving skills;
- Effective strategic planning skills and experience supporting system-level improvement;
- Demonstrated skills designing and delivering professional development;
- Skilled in creating and managing effective presentations, including the capability to use relevant technology;
- Ability to facilitate effective meetings;
- Ability and commitment to implement best practice service delivery and provide successful leadership (interns, practicum students, externs);
- Ability to support a collaborative working environment (i.e. coaching, active listening, etc.);
- Ability to be a reflective practitioner and continuous learner with a growth mindset;
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
- Master's degree from an accredited university or college in the field of Psychology, Social Work, Counseling Education or Human Services;
- Experience providing and managing comprehensive and integrated school mental health services;
- Experience providing crisis and suicide prevention and intervention.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
- Hold or be qualified to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator's License for School Social Work, School Counseling, or School Psychology;
- Licensed (or license eligible) in the State of North Carolina to provide mental health services: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors (LCMHC), Licensed Psychologist (LP);
- Certified Clinical Supervisor;
- Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license according to the State of North Carolina requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated leadership as a school administrator or program director for three or more years;
- Hold or be eligible to hold an Administrator's license.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages and oversees the comprehensive and equitable delivery of clinical mental health services in consideration of system priorities and in a manner consistent with guidelines for professional practice and codes of ethics, adhering to relevant laws, policies, and lines of authority.
- Manages and evaluates the research, preparation, implementation, and accountability of the WCPSS SBMH clinical mental health services in schools.
- Supervises and evaluates WCPSS SBMH Therapists in schools.
- Seeks to recruit the most highly qualified WCPSS SBMH Therapists and retain them through excellence in supervision, support/consultation, mentoring, goal setting, performance appraisal, and accountability.
- Leads efforts to provide clinical mental health training, information sharing, and overall program. design/implementation/evaluation for all WCPSS SBMH Therapists with an eye toward continuous improvement.
- Manages the Counseling and Student Services Clinical Supervision Program.
- Coordinates and/or participates in the district-level crisis team (including on-call crisis coverage and event response), school social leadership team, and school social work professional learning teams.
- Supports the work of the school social work leadership team through collaboration and supporting staffing needs around clinical mental health services.
- Collaborates with school personnel, other central services departments, parents, and community agencies to provide information and assistance pertaining to student clinical mental health services.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
