Future Teachers Program
This recruitment initiative targets WCPSS high school graduates and college freshmen and sophomores who commit to teaching with us.
Student Teachers, Interns and Pre-Service Placements
Nearly 2,000 student teachers, interns, and pre-service students hosted from colleges and universities throughout NC and the nation gain valuable experience in our schools.
Licensure and Alternative Licensure
To teach, you must become licensed by North Carolina. The state offers options for professional educators (beginning and out-of-state) and career changers to obtain their license.
CCTI: Wake-Durham Educator Preparation Program for Resident Teachers
This in-district educator preparation scholarship program is designed to support beginning educators with hybrid or in-person sessions while teaching full-time.
Pathways to Leading
Administrative Internship Program
This program provides professional development for teachers who are taking on assistant principal roles.
Master of School Administration Internship Program
We support interns through three annual intern institutes, full-time intern observation training, mock interviews, site visits and individual coaching.
Coaches Program
This program offers cognitive learning for leaders who have coaching functions and want to develop their skills to assist others.
Principal Academy
This professional learning series is led by district leaders and experienced principals and provides new principals guidance on executive leadership standards, plus an opportunity to collaborate with other new principals.
Wake AP Leadership Cohort
Being part of a cohort allows assistant principals to grow professionally and develop the knowledge, skills and dispositions necessary to advance to the next level of leadership.
