POSITION PURPOSE:
Oversees the evaluation, implementation, and management of digital tools within the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS). Close collaboration with educational leaders, staff, and essential partners to ensure digital tools are seamlessly integrated to enhance teaching, learning, and district objectives. Maintains the security, scalability, and efficiency of all digital resources while managing provisioning and ongoing support to maximize impact for students and staff. Fosters engagement and effective communication among educators, students, and stakeholders by promoting the use and understanding of digital tools.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff and staff members of external agencies, and the community. Work is considered light physical work, requiring the exertion of up to ten pounds of force. The work frequently requires driving automotive equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Google Workspace; Windows; Chrome OS; Google Apps;
- Strong organizational and management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
- Ability to collaborate effectively with peers and professionals in leadership, training, and support roles to achieve shared goals;
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and implement creative solutions to complex problems with minimal supervision;
- Ability to adhere to Information Technology policies and processes to ensure consistent quality of service;
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements to enhance service efficiency and effectiveness continuously;
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, external agencies, attorneys, parents, and the public.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field from an accredited college or university;
- Two years of demonstrated leadership experience.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
- Must hold and maintain a valid vehicle operator's license according to the state of NC requirements and comply with WCPSS hiring requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience supporting K-12 learning and teaching.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with district administrators, instructional coaches, curriculum coordinators, and IT personnel to assess technology needs and improve the integration of digital resources into the curriculum.
- Works closely with faculty and staff to understand their needs and provide ongoing support and training on new tools and digital resources.
- Facilitates professional development opportunities for educators to enhance their skills with digital tools, focusing on best practices for teaching and learning.
- Provides tiered support for issues related to digital tools, resources, and platforms, working with IT staff to resolve technical problems quickly and effectively.
- Develops troubleshooting guides and user documentation to assist staff and students in using digital resources independently.
- Monitors usage and address concerns regarding accessibility, functionality, or security of digital platforms.
- Oversees the provisioning and rostering of user accounts through platforms like ClassLink Roster Server.
- Ensures seamless access to digital tools for all users while maintaining secure and accurate account data.
- Acts as a liaison between departments, schools, and vendors to ensure clear and consistent communication about digital resources.
- Leads the development and implementation of the district's digital resource strategy, ensuring alignment with educational goals and technology standards.
- Oversees the selection, deployment, and lifecycle management of digital tools, platforms, and educational software (e.g., learning management systems, student information systems, educational apps).
- Maintains and updates the inventory of all district-owned digital resources, ensuring accuracy and consistency across platforms.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
